23 Sept 08 - Lancers Win Midland Impact Contest
Sunday 21st September saw The Lancers performing in the final and biggest league show of the season.
To stand any chance of winning the league for a second year running the Corps neede to not only win but win by a big margin over the league leaders Spirit of Coventry and all the other performing Bands.
For a change the weather was great, yes we actually had sun and it was warm (thats a first for 2008 we thinks).
After a good preparation Lancers took to the field and put on a solid display filled with 100% effort from everyone. When the results were announced the performance on the day was good enough to top the pile but was not quite enough to retain the League title.
However that meant that we had qualified for Finals as number 2 seeds for our class and would have a good shot at becoming Div Three National Champions for the second year running in two weeks time.
