11 Feb 08 - Stay Awake Fun & Frolics

Stafford Lancers met at Graham Balfour High School on the evening of Friday 8th February with one sole aim in mind, to stay awake right through the night until 8.00am Saturday morning!

Although Lancers members are past masters of staying awake a series of fun activities was planned to help keep them going into the early hours.

The evening was kicked off with a disco with DJ Lukeos banging out some tunes.

This was followed by the big pub quiz and series of rounds including a picture round of famous David`s. All teams were selected randomly with members of each section working together to answer the questions and coming up with some funny team names. This was followed by a series of takeaways being ordered to tuck into!

Following this everyone got a taste of Guard warm-ups with the Colour Guard instructors and a giant pass the parcel with forfeits.

One of the funniest activities was the blindfold team game which included apple bobbing amongst other things, hilarious stuff.

We were also entertained by 4 teams putting together a 90 second musical, which ran from the Nativity though Rocky to High School Musical.

Then appeared a giant parachute for a series of parachute games, now if you have never took part or witnessed parachute games then you have been missing out cause it was just great fun.

The X box challenge also carried on throughout the night along with games of Jenga and other things.

Just after 6.0am the support team put on sausage & bacon butties yummy, after that it was not long before 8.00am came round and the 12 hour marathon came to an end.

All that’s left now is for everyone to collect their money pledges from their sponsorship forms and bring them to rehearsal, all being well we will have raised around £400, so everyone please do the final bit and get in your sponsor money.
