16 Nov 07 - 2007 Presentation Disco - Report
Stafford Lancers members, familly & friends got together to celebrate a successful season for the Corps by getting together in their glad rags to party the night away at the Annual Awards Night.
The evening kicked off with Corps Director Dave Milton welcoming everyone and thanking all members, staff and support for helping to make the year so memorable. He concluded by saying it was fantastic to have been crowned British Champions for our class but more than anything was proud to have got the true Lancers spirit back seeing such a wonderful atmosphere within the Corps.
From there everyone recieved their Lancers year patch and certificate along with the coveted BYBA Winners red patch.
The main awards were then presented with the Bands Band Member of the Year (voted by the members) going to Heather Hughes (Contra).
The Corps top award Member of the Year "The Lancers Shield" was presented to trumpet player Ashley Williams (pictured) our congratulations to him on being the first rookie since the Corps began to be recognised as such.
Finally both Musical Director Jason Howard and Drumline Instructor Adam Lowes recieved their 10 years service award. Jason has been with the Corps since it started in 1995 but moved away to Yorkshire for a while missing 2 seasons and Adam started life in our Academy coming through the ranks to taking up the mantle of Drumline Instructor in 2007. Our grateful thanks go to both of them for outstanding service to the Corps!
