Featuring Lancers 2006 Member of the Year "Rebecca Hughes"
NAME: Becky Hughes
AGE: 16 years old
SECTION: Lead Baritone
JOINED: 2002
FIRST SHOW: "Out of Darkness Cometh Light" 2002
BIRTHDAY: June
What is your favourite food?
I love foreign foods, especially Indian like curry.
What music do you like outside of Lancers?
I listen to most things but at the moment I am really into Rock and my favourite bands are My Chemical Romance and the Lost Prophets. My favourite song is "Never Going to Catch Your Mind" by the Lost Prophets
What are your First show Memories?
My first was at BYBA Chase show; we didn?t have coaches and had to go in cars. We won, and it was a strange sensation marching around watching everyone looking at you. Winning isn`t everything but on first ever show it makes it more special.
What are your most memorable moments from Lancers?
I have a few, my first one is the World Show Band Championships in Bournemouth, and I always remember my first night for some reason. I think it was the excitement at being away and surrounded by all the bands from around the world.
My 2nd moment is when we all went to see "Les Miserables" in London, which was fantastic, and of course winning the trophies at last year`s presentation evening.
What is the best thing about being in Lancers?
I think one of the best things is it is something completely different. It`s great when people ask you your hobbies and you have to explain what Lancers is all about. Also learning to play instruments is a good thing.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I don`t think I will be marching in 5 years time. From a Corps point of view I would like to instruct one day as I think I have the patience to do the job.
From a personal view I want to study to become a vet so I will be going to university once I get through my A Levels and GCSE`s that is.
