25 Oct 09 - 2009 Presentation Evening Review

Stafford Lancers members, family & friends once again got together for the 14th annual awards evening. This year it was held at a new venue "Highfields Social Club" which was just right and we danced the night away to the sounds of the Equiliser Disco!

Every member that marched with The Lancers for 2009 season received their Stafford Lancers year patch and certificate along with BYBA Finalists patch and a BYBA 35 year Anniversary pin badge!

We then moved onto the presentation of the trophies for the sectional and main awards. The Corps top award, Member of the Year "The Lancers Shield" this was presented to longstanding Brass member "Chloe Robinson"(pictured).

The Lancers shield is awarded to members that demonstrate the true spirit of what it is to be a Lancer throughout the year, and reflects excellence in performance, attitude, commitment and effort. Chloe who also picked up her 8 years service patch and Brass Section Award thoroughly deserves this recognition and all our congratulations go to her!

Bands Band Member of the Year (voted by the members) went to "Annabelle Bird" (mellophone) a fantastic achievement; special mention to Luke McFall who for the third time in four years came runners up!

Corps Director Dave Milton then went onto thank all the instructional staff, support team and members for sticking through what had been a difficult year. Especially those that had rallied round and restored his faith and enthusiasm to face the exciting challenges that lie ahead in building a new Stafford Lancers!
