23 Jun 09 - Away day in Leeds

Stafford Lancers gained a creditable 4th place after their performance at the BYBA Northern Star Contest at Batley RFC in Leeds on Saturday 13th June 2009.

The Corps was in a way just happy to be able to perform, due to a large amount of lost rehearsal time since Christmas for various reasons.

Lancers were not able to put out a complete marching show playing static for part five, with the Drumline yet to learn part three. Everyone was really satisfied with the performance and the score of 52.67 close enough to today’s winners Revolution who scored 58.61 to give reason for optimism.

One other major positive was that after last season’s dreadful weather and recent rain, rain, rain the sun shone all day. Let’s hope that the trend continues throughout the summer and the season ahead.

With three weeks between shows, by the time we get to the next BYBA Show in Bristol, we should be right in the mix with a completed show.
