It had been 10 years since Stafford Lancers opened its doors to perspective members, and it hadbeen 20 years since a musical production that was named as 'the Worlds most popular musical' first opened its doors in the Barbican Theatre in London. What better way to celebrate the Corps 10th Season than to produce a show that the Lancers creative team have been considering for more than 5 years!

Les Miserables was a show that truely captured the spirit of the Corps a fabulous producion that the membership fell in love with

Competitive success was to follow throughout the 2005 season in both DCUK & BYBA once again after a years break.

A packed programme of performances up and down the country followed as well as locally once again in The Stafford Music Festival. Everywhere the Corps performed the reaction was the same from a show that really captured the hearts of all that saw it.

In DCUK we finished as Runners Up in A Class for the third successive season, is this some sort of record? What was a record was the Corps new all time highest ever DCUK score of 73.7 points which i almost every other year would have been enough to win the A Class Championship.

In BYBA The Brass Explosion Championships continued to grow in size and reputation including a home town win by the Lancers. Fiishing Runners up in the League the Lancers made it another hat tricks of Runners up spots for the year when just being pipped to the Championship in controversal fashion as one of the judges gave Lancers a score way out of context with everyone else. With emotions running high the members many of who where marching together for the last time wanted to play what had amazing show that everyone at lancers had truely loved one last time in the car park. Unfortunatley this action did not go down well with the BYBA officials and we was imposed apenalty on our Finals performance.

Lancers were now recognised as one of the most promising Corps in the Country and that brought interest to help from around the UK and our staff increased in size helping us push on in the second half of the season

Without any doubt the 2005 season was just fantastic in almost everyway and we were ready a last to take our place at the very top table of banding in this country!!!
