In many`s eyes this years show was Lancers best to date. It certainly had energy and emotion, which seemed to touch those that saw it.
It was another busy year in with lots of local performances as well as our hectic competition schedule around the country. Without doubt the most memorable moment of that year came at the New London Stadium and the performance that was about to follow, surpassed anything that the staff or the hundred and fifty supporters that had followed the Band to the World Championships could have imagined.
It was just one of those moments in people's lives when the whole became much more than the individual parts; an unforgettable performance which resulted in Stafford Lancers being awarded a Silver medal, the band had come of age.
Our results throughout the year again resulted in qualification for BYBA Contest Class Finals by finishing forth in the League, which also meant we were promoted to Championship class for the following season.
The Corps came fifth at Finals with Jason retaining his status as Contest Class Champion Field Commander.
It was a great year all right but unfortunately storm clouds were gathering and difficult months lay ahead.
