As the months rolled by, more people joined and a few people left. We were stretched to the limits but we coped and on our 1st Birthday June 8th 1996 we marched out in our first BYBA competition at the Black Country Championships. Unbelievably we won!
This was such a proud day and a great achievement for all involved those that were there that day would never forget the unforgettable feeling of joy and pride that that moment brought.
Over the course of that year we entered a further six shows winning another one and coming runners up three times.
This meant that not only did we achieve our aim of qualifying for our first ever appearance at BYBA Finals but also we had finished forth in the league, which meant we were to be promoted.
At the BYBA British Finals at the NIA the Corps stood nervously waiting to go on behind the infamous black NIA drapes. Suddenly they flew open and it was time to perform our first ever show for the last time, in the massive open space of the National Indoor Arena.
A great performance was put on for a big following of supporters resulting in 5th place on the day.
The Dream had become a reality and we were on our way!
